The County Government of Narok has officially flagged-off the disbursement of the 2024/2025 bursary fund worth Kshs 450 Million to 45,000 student beneficiaries in secondary and tertiary institutions.
The ceremony, that was presided over by the Governor H.E. Patrick Keturet Ole Ntutu, marked the third bursary disbursement by the County Government since 2022 and brought the total allocation to the bursary kitty to an impressive Ksh 1.2 billion in three years. This initiative has directly benefited more than 140,000 students, over the aforementioned period, providing vital support to their educational pursuits.
” Through this latest round of funding, we aim to support the education of 45,000 students enrolled in secondary schools and tertiary institutions. This funding compliments the full scholarship program that has currently enrolled 1600 students,” Said Governor Ntutu.
In his address, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to utilising the bursary program to inspire hope, nurture talent, and lay a strong foundation for the future of the youth in Narok county.
Following the launch of the 2024/25 Narok County Bursary Program, Governor Ntutu commenced the issuance of cheques to 1,432 student beneficiaries from across Mosiro ward. During the distribution exercise, the Governor clarified details about the ongoing bursary distribution exercise, addressed concerns to eliminate double allocations, emphasized the importance of ensuring that the fund reaches more disadvantaged students and encouraged the beneficiaries to collect their bankers’ cheques from the ward administrator.
A total of Kshs 12 Million worth of bursary has been allocated to Mosiro ward for this financial year. The distribution of cheques to students across the wards continues.
