On 1st of June, 2025, H.E. Governor Patrick Keturet Ole Ntutu, alongside County Commissioner, Mr. Kipkech Lotiatia, led Narok County in commemorating the 62nd Madaraka Day celebrations at Masaantare Comprehensive school in Ololulung’a ward, Narok South Subcounty. This year’s celebrations were held under the theme of Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.
In his address, Government Ntutu emphasized Narok county’s vital role in protecting and conserving marine ecosystems through the conservation of the Mau Complex which is the source of River Mara that drains into Lake Victoria and noted that the county government is actively collaborating with stakeholders to conserve environmental resources that support marine life downstream.
Governor Ntutu recognized the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, especially those within Narok county, including General Kurito Ole Kisio, Ole Ngere and Ole Ngapiani, for their commitment to the cause of liberation.
The Governor also highlighted a myriad of development projects that the county government continues to implement across various sectors including infrastructure and education, and addressed matters grassroots governance, at length, including the enactment of Narok County Village Delineation Bill, 2024.
